1920

Can any one identify this font painted on our gym's roof at the University of Arizona as we have lost all record of it. We would very much appreciate it.

Hello one and all.

I am here today to seek your expert knowledge in identifying the font in the image I have uploaded in this post. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give and any suggestions of similar fonts would also be of assistance.

Your (new) friend,

I've looked everywhere for this, online, old type specimen books and I simply can't recognize it.

A letterpress printer friend of mine suggested it could be a customisation on Windsor or Hallamshire Old Style, but I think it maybe quite a big customisation for a book binder.

The book was published in London, around 1924.

Any help on this is much appreciated,

Hello

I am after a bit of type-sleuthing for this early (1917) example of what I guess is a wood type slab serif for PRAVDA. Kind of similar to this revival family http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/flat-it/dharma-slab/m-extra-bold/ but not quite, missing the rounded exit junctions before the slab-serifs...

Any clues?

thanks as ever for your time!
