AFDKO

Hello,

My questions would probably appear quite obvious to you, but I have failed to find any answer around Google or in the AFDKO specs (perhaps because I'm not using the good keywords?)

I'm using a spanish OTF font with (Lua)Latex which shows some minor problems for my language (french, namely) and, for example, comes with very tight-kerned apostrophe. I use a .fea file in Latex to add some space around it, and fix some exotic glyph combinations.

I can't install AFDKO

Hello,

I followed the instructions in FDK package for the installation on Mac
but I get this message when run "autohint -h"

/Users/seb/bin/FDK/Tools/osx/autohint: line 18: /Users/seb/bin/FDK/Tools/osx/Python/Current/bin/python: No such file or directory

unfortunately I have no experience in using the terminal. I have no clue as to what went wrong

thanks
Seb

Greetings,

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/opentype/afdko/eula.html
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/developer/opentype/FDK-25-WIN.zip

I tried this today and it seems broken. The paths in FinishInstallWindows.cmd seem incorrect (I get errors). Even when I manually enter the correct paths, set the PATH etc., and re-login, the tools give python errors.

Switching to Fontlab macro style: There is no FDK/Tools/FontLab directory in the FDK tree, and there is no installFontLabMacros.py anywhere in the zip.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Did I get an incorrect zip somehow?

BTW, I have Python 2.7.1 installed previously on my system (so I can already I run the occasional FontLab script)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Dear buddies

Some time ago I had tested trying to build a font using makeotf-afdko
(Font, Version 1.002;PS 1.001;hotconv 1.0.57;makeotf.lib2.0.21895 DEVELOPMENT)
All of supporting data required has been edited from the source file example Adobe "minionpro". The process of generating fonts was successfully and font can be used at least in windows xp. But after I checked this font microsoft font validator, there are some pretty annoying error messages as follows:

into file: feature size
actually I haven't yet understand about the values of parameter, So I put them with random value, and It is succesfully generating error into Microsoft Font Validator (MFV) reviews :)

feature size {
parameters 150 3 65 84;

I just successfully installed the AFDKO command-line tools on Mac OS X as I've just tested runnin gthe "autohint -h" line and it gives me plenty of Help information… but I'm having problems when trying to install the FontLab macros.

I've followed the guide step by step here

file:///Users/Reserves/Library/Application%20Support/FontLab/Studio%205/...

and I don't actually get any error in the Terminal window it's just nothing actually happens. This is what I get when following the 1-8 steps for installing the FontLab macros:
