new release

Bold mutant typography. Retro-futuristic. Sixties meets 1990’s comic book inspired, superfast for your superhero? The pencil tissue was dragged out from the very back of the file cabinet, stuck in the metal rail, it was lost then found- to bring a unique look to your project. A companion font to astroluxtype’s Spacepod, both fine ways to mark and identify your spacecraft. Note the lowercase letterforms that make connectors such as g, j, y, b, d and g. See the posters at myfonts.com for examples of how to you might use this feature. Redrail Superfast is a minimal glyph set which can be used at various sizes, we consider it a headline/display font and best applied larger than 36 points in size. Available at myfonts.com. New release by G-Type: Precious Sans Two.

G-Type’s first new font release of 2014 is actually a major reworking of an old one, Precious Sans, which originally appeared back in 2002. The new family is called Precious Sans Two, available from www.g-type.com with a 50% discount until the end of January, then with 25% off the standard price until Feb 28th 2014.

Over a decade after it’s first appearance G-Type’s Nick Cooke decided the time was right to re-appraise the typeface, scrutinise the old letterforms and make some important enhancements.

In 2008 TypeTogether released the Bree typeface, a sleek sans serif that quickly became a favorite among brand and editorial designers.

Bree Serif follows the same theme as its predecessor. It is a young and energetic upright italic that approaches readers with hip and somewhat elegant charm. It has a range of styles that can perform as counterparts to the original Bree fonts. At the same time though they bring a whole range of new and individual features that make Bree Serif a separate type family in its own right.

We welcome the very talented Alisa Nowak and her Eskapade to TypeTogether's family.

The Eskapade family is the result of research confronting Roman and German blackletter forms, mainly fraktur letters. The idea is to adapt these broken forms for a contemporary use instead of creating a faithful revival of a historical typeface.

We are pleased to announce that the expected sans serif counterpart to the award-winning Adelle is here.

This sans serif proposes a cleaner and more spirited take on the traditional grotesque sans. As typical with TypeTogether fonts, the most demanding editorial design pieces were taken into consideration when engineering Adelle Sans. The combination of its lively character and unobstrusive appearance that is inherent to grotesque sans serifs make it an utterly versatile tool for any imaginable graphic application, whether it is branding, signage or advertising. Without any doubt, the key word behind Adelle Sans’ design is flexibility.

Salvo Sans & Salvo Serif
Cyrus Highsmith designed Salvo Sans & Salvo Serif (originally called Boomer Sans & Boomer Serif) as one series to tie the design of AARP The Magazine to AARP The Bulletin and AARP Segunda Juventud. Together the Salvos illustrate the guiding sentiments of the design director Courtney Murphy, “Hopeful, informative, alive, embracing and delightful. The right words draw people in, but on a subconscious level the typeface does that first.” FB 2007, 2011

FB Alix
With a vintage Selectric typewriter as his muse, Matthew Butterick set out to make a monospaced font that preserved the liveliness & comfortable readability of a proportional design. FB Alix was inspired by IBM’s Prestige, a ’50s stalwart, but features true cursive italics, not sloped variants. An OpenType set of proportional alternates allows for more conventional text fitting while retaining the classic typewriter look.

4 Styles: Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic

Bullen
Intrigued by a certain freewheeling eclecticism found in ATF faces from the turn of the 20th century, Juliet Shen constructed her own unabashedly quirky homage. Vivid character lends distinction, creating a notably clear text performance, even at small sizes. Named for Henry Lewis Bullen, influential printer & ATF librarian, talented visionary & erstwhile rogue, the typeface Bullen is likewise both serious and offbeat; FB 2011

4 Styles: Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic

Bullen is available as OpenType fonts with tabular figures, arbitrary fractions, and extended language support.

Hello type community,

I'm here to anounce a new release from my independent foundry. That's Alegria, a display type family designed for joyful communication. It is composed by Alegria Roman (with upper/lowercase and oldstyle figures), Alegria Caps (with uppercase, small caps and lining figures), Alegria Bright (am open face small caps version) and Alegria Fill (that can be used as a second layer with Bright or Caps faces to create multiple colors on the text).

Alegria familyis already available to purchase at MyFonts. I hope you enjoy it! :-)

P22 Type Foundry proudly announces the release of P22 Flora Mambo, a set of fonts based on the distinctive style of 20th century illustrator Jim Flora.

Most widely known for his Jazz album covers of the 1940s & 50s, Flora's style shows his fantastic imagination and bold graphic style. The P22 Flora Mambo font set contains a two-part font that allows you to achieve two-color text in the style of Flora’s iconic 1955 album design “Mambo for Cats” as well as a set of 72 “Flornaments.”

Gah, I've never done this before and debated promoting the typeface here at all, but since you all give me inspiration and happiness with your new releases, it would be selfish of me not to share with you all. So sheepishly, here it is.

The other day I release Ne10, a new stencil typeface I designed, through YWFT. This stencil font takes its inspiration from a neon sign at my local pizzeria without being blatant in its reference. I found myself staring at the sign too often, so I decided to try to work it out digitally. While sketching it up I realized that this could work rather nicely as a stencil font, instead of a faux 3D neon looking thing. So although the inspiration is neon, the result is more modern looking. Hopefully some of you will like it.
