I've tested it here, http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/utf8test.htm
No talking about the miscellaneous ones.
Is it Windows 7 fonts? Is it Chrome rendering? Is it some configuration I should tweak? Any help is welcome!
I've just checked that UTF-8 was selected in Chrome codification, and it was. Strangly I can see more symbols in IE 11 (!)
I've done some Internet searches, but all I've got is some big words such as "quadratic B-splines" or "cubic Bezier splines". I've examined some fonts and I've been assuming that TrueType outlines are controlled by on and off-curved nodes (which are easier to adjust), and PostScript outlines by on-curved and handled nodes (which feel much more like "Bezier" to me). But I've just found out that most fonts I have with the OTF extension are recognized with "OpenType Layout, TrueType outlines" and with "(OpenType)" going after their family names (they've got PostScript outlines as I assumed).
I am looking for a font called Oriya MN. I can't find it available for purchase anywhere. It seems to be a OS X Mountain Lion system font
If anybody could point me in the right direction, of how to legally obtain the font, that would quite awesome. Also, if instead one can name an alternative font, that may do the trick. I need the font to create artwork for a sign. My customer specified the font on their end.
We recently released a new Corporate Design featuring Univers and Univers Condensed. It all works – great.
However the client s not willing to boy the 100+ licenses to get the fonts onto it employees computers for daily use on stationary etc.
So now I am looking for a substitute that ships with the standard Windows 7 package and resembles Univers and Univers Condensed as closely as possible. Unfortunately I am working on a Mac so I don’t have access to the entire Windows 7 library to try it out myself.
Anyone have any ideas, maybe even faced a similar issue in the past?
Any tips or recommendations are highly appreciated
I suspect I crashed Windows 7 rasterizer. I was investigating how my (silly) font was looking at 8pt/em (in Notepad); now Notepad fonts' selection is quirky when I try to choose this font (it won't show — autogenerated — Italic/Bold on the first time I select the font, only on the second time), and, while the dialogue allows me to choose font size, the Notepad continues to use the same 8pt size.
I have just generated a Family with 12 weights:
All Fonts do have the same characterset, glyphorder, Unicode rages, Codepages. MS FontValidator and Adobe CompareFamily don't show any problems.
Any idea why some fonts show a correct icon and others don't?
