Body type for David McCullough's "John Adams"

I'm trying to identify this font used in the book "John Adams." It has elements in common to Baskerville and Bulmer, even Janson Monotype, for example the very distinctive italicized capital J and Q.

It's close to Caslon Italic Swash, but the capital A is very different.
