Hey.
I'm looking for the original version of Brownjohn's Street Level essay that was published in Typographica, Issue 4.
I know these are very rare.
Does anyone have a copy or know if there is a digital version?
Cheers,
Nick

I once made copies from issues of Typographica (is that
new series or old BTW?) but only the articles that really
interested me. What was that one about? When I have time I
can look in my "deep archives" (dusty boxes in the garage :-).

Hey cheers for replying.
It's basically a visual essay by Robert Brownjohn using photographs of found type e.g signs, lettering etc.
It was published in Issue 4 of Typographica (new series):
Typographica 4, 1961 (78 pages). Contents: Mile-a-minute typography?; Road signs in Holland; Street level (by Robert Brownjohn; The Civic Trust and lettering: a visit to Epping.
I found one small image, but was looking for the article in full.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have to say it's unlikely that I photocopied that particular
article, but when I get a chance I'll certainly check anyway.

Hi Nick
I see you're in the UK. Places to look for old back issues of Typographica would be the archives of The Department of Typography & Graphic Communication and of course, St. Bride Library. Both in London rather than Manchester.
