Hello,
I just found this site on Etsy.com, they are reproductions of vintage New York subway signs.
I think they're pretty well done, in terms of typography choice.
Can anyone identify the possible typefaces used?

Not sure if all the NYC subway signs you saw used the same, but the second on on that page seems to use Akzidenz-Grotesk Condensed.

The originals weren't even typefaces, they where hand lettering...
But these reproductions use a couple of different typefaces which mimics the effects quite well...
