Does anyone know a font close to this?
There are possibly 4 types here. Is there a specific one you want to find?
- Mike Yanega
The smallest two types look like DeVinne, to me. If this was set in 1894, that would have been available.
The largest lettering looks similar to Latin Antique from BB&S, shown in Mac McGrew's book of American Metal Typefaces.
Sorry about that.
The one I'm most interested in is "Hjalmar Biglers…"
The top type looks similar to French Round Face, also shown in McGrew's book. 19th Century types are not as well documented, at least in my collection of books, as 20th century ones, so I may only be able to get something similar.
There is a free font called Respess Capitals by Amy Conger
which seems close enough to "HJALMAR..."
There is a possibility the designer have used a source design
close to your font, I suppose you can send a message and ask:
That certainly does look her font was based on the same typeface used for HJALMAR.. Nice find Fivos.
Thanks for your help.
