Hello,
Where do all these Scala came from? They where never shiped this way. In the most current OpenType versions small caps, linig figures and expert sests are combined in a singele font file. I think your problem can be fixed best by using the originals.

Converting PostScript-fonts to OpenType (eg with TransType) will cause this phenomenon too… (So there is no need to accuse the OT-er of foul play.)
