Old Statoil logotype

Vagabond's picture

Good day fellow typophiles!

I was wondering what font was used for the old Statoil logotype.

The closest match I have found is Frutiger Bold, but I am not entirely sure.

What do you think?

Look like Myriad pro black, only the A looks bit different

The S and O of Frutiger look different I think. Could it be Milo Sans?

Milo Sans was designed later than the logotype itself.
Yeah, Myriad Pro Black is probably the closest match.

Logos for corporations this large often used customized type or lettering. This logo likely began with Frutiger.
