This is obviously a custom cut. Does anyone know what typeface the SportingNews word mark is based on? I've been racking my brain on this one.

It looks like there are at least two reference typefaces, based on inconsistencies in the letter treatment. For example, the S, N, W and s have flare serifs, while the other letters do not...
