Could it be Optima with a negative stroke? That would explain the lack of crossbar on the 'A'.

This came up before: skinny stressed sans on Bob Richardson book cover. See also this thread: Thin stressed geometric sans in Another Magazine.
Hint: you can run a search via Google, and limit your search to this site by adding site:typophile.com/node/ to your query (Typophile’s built-in search doesn’t work at the moment).
