Clever tittle.
Definitely interesting. Different, but same name: http://www.fonthead.com/fonts/ShoeString Related: http://flat-it.com/sneaker.php
But, at least, it isn't rodeo-inspired! ;-)
Bugger; Shoelace is just too easy. And Hrant; I can always just change those aglets to telephone or USB. Or power outlet. Or HDMI connection. And I just might. In fact I can have an infinite amount of variants just by changing the ends ;·}
I think what would be ideal is if the "endings" were not on each letter, but on each word.

Try HDMI :)
With OT, that is given. My idea is to build a lot of ligaures totally connected, and then change in the "endings" and "beginnings".
This is how far I've gotten:
I bet a knot would work.
I guess that is the way to go, but how to make it look good… I think I have to do the same thing with comma.
If you keep the shoestring metaphor, you could place two tittles from wich a string enters and exits.

I am stumped with 't'. What can I use as a crossbar?
