Tweet your Typophile Posts

Jared Benson's picture

Great news! We've got Twitter integration up and running. If you go into your profile via:

My Account > Edit > Social Networks

you'll see this new panel:

If you enter in your Twitter username and password, every time you post a new Forum Topic or Blog to Typophile, it will update your Twitter account with the new content! Tweets are not sent when commenting.

Note: Twitter account information is encrypted and it's passing through to Twitter.

You can edit the format of how tweets are posted by manipulating the Text Format field.

Have fun!

No FB integation yet, but it's really easy to forward your tweets to Facebook with FB's Twitter app. That's what I do.

Does this mean we all get to be friends on Twitter, too? Or is this already the case and I'm last to jump on the ole bandwagon? :o) Thanks, Jared!

You guys are "on it"! You probably don't get enough credit for it, but this site was IMHO the BEST of all messaging social networking sites.

There wouldn't have been a Twitter without Typophile. Anyone who tells you any different ain't tellin' the truth. ;)

Is there a per-post opt-out option? As in, could we decide to send some thread starters to Twitter, and others not?

This should be my first Twyt-o-phile-tweet-comment-thingy.
Or is it a Typ-o-tweet-phile-comment-thingy?

What's the english word for a combined tweet/comment/blog-post?

So I could post here, which would post to Twitter. I could then set up Twitter to automatically post to Facebook. Is there an app to turn Facebook posts into LinkedIn updates? And then I could have it update MySpace...

I don't know a word, but Apple does have a product for it: iNeedALife.

The end of history will just mean that the tweets all circle back in a feedback loop and create a massive self-referential black hole that consumes the internet down to the last blinking router. Fortunately, some of us will still be able to write with goose feathers ;-)

Happy 2010 all!
