Thanks Jack. That's a pretty funny-looking 'Font Gladiator'.
Yves, have people been telling us that there was a way to use Google to search the Typophile archives? I tried using the Typophile search and Google and couldn't get any answers, so I sat down with the Font Book until it jumped off the page. The T and R were what I kept looking for.
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, comander of the armies of the North, general of the Fleix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius......And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.
Then listen to me. Learn from me. I wasn't the best because I killed quickly. I was the best because the crowed loved me! Win the crowd, and you'll win your freedom.
i axually did a search... but i could not find it...

No prob, you couldn't find it with the Typophile Advanced Search, as it's buried amongst the big chunk of archives thaht went AWOHL a while ago. I had to search externally to dig this one up.
Well, James, our resident archive meister, taught me this trick: go to Google and do an Advanced Search, where you can restrict your finds to a certain domain, in this instance typophile.com. It worked this time.

Jack,
I think the font is Castellar (Monotype) that has been filled in. All the letterforms look the same to me, especially the G, T & R.
