I don’t think it’s Helvetica; none of the Helvetica Neue periods look like perfect squares.

first thought was Russell Square, but no.
looks like it might be pre-digital, possibly a photo lettering effort.

I’m such an idiot. It’s not squooshed Helvetica, it’s squooshed Arial. How could I ever get those confused?

Thanks for indulging my attempt at an April Fools Day joke . . . I finally ID’d the font as Hand Lettered :D
Not nearly as clever as my Fontographer MX one that probably threw Ted Harrison into a tizzy but I’m already working on next years :D
