Metrics Problem

Fontographer is displaying many characters as invisible in the metrics window.
What is the issue?
My manual says nothing.

Now, I have another problem maybe you can help with.
The bowls of the face I am creating are filling in in the metircs window and at large printed sizes.
What can I do here?

Choose all characters
Elements -> correct path direction
That should do it

and don't forget to recalculate the bitmaps before generating
