Is an "Intern" what we in the UK would call a "Junior Designer", but without the salary?
22 Mar 2004 — 8:23pm
I'd love to do it, but I don't live in SF...and I don't do web. icky icky icky.
:sigh:

Joseph these days you'd have to explain what an X-ato knife is, and which end to hold.
29 Mar 2004 — 4:08pm
Joe --

You said rubylith (Beavis Voice) Huh, huh, thats cool.
Man that bring back memories, rbuylith that is, not beavis.
29 Mar 2004 — 4:32pm
I've re-sent my materials to the address posted above. Hopefully this attempt will be successful.

And just to put everyone's mind at ease, x-acto skills are still an integral part of design education these days. And they even taught us a little about this "rubylith" stuff you speak of... in design history
29 Mar 2004 — 5:14pm
But best of all would be watching Beavis doing rubylith.

Yeah, our own private little Typophile slave! At last!
David we have those in Belgium too, but I think it's
limited to one month.
22 Mar 2004 — 10:43am
Actually that can't be, because I worked at FontShop
for most of my last year at the academy, two days a
week. And my stint at Digital Arts lasted for at least
half a year.
22 Mar 2004 — 10:50am
If I didn't have a family to provide for I'd be on
the plane right now.
22 Mar 2004 — 1:49pm
David, some internships are paid, depending on experience / portfolio. (Unless of course you're in such demand that interns are beating your door down. We're not quite there yet.)
Zara, 6 to 12 weeks. Or as long as the intern can stand it.
29 Mar 2004 — 3:42pm
Angela, we didn't receive your letter / email. If you sent it by post, we'll give it a few more days. If you sent it by email please send it again. If you don't get a prompt reply then we still haven't gotten it.
Daniel, any design student that isn't getting those skills better ask for a refund. It's no longer about designing with rubylith and paste-up but it's all about presentation skills - mounting and comping.
29 Mar 2004 — 5:10pm
Heh. It's okay if Beevis has a fond place in your heart too.
(I'd rather watch Beevis than use rubylith anyway.)
30 Mar 2004 — 10:10am
We've confirmed that our "intern" email was misconfigured. If
you sent an email to intern@punchcut.com, please send it again.
21 Mar 2004 — 2:49pm
sounds lovely!
How long is this internship for, approx?
