Is it possible to change the outline, fill, or handle colors so that they are not all shades of black and dark gray?
It is possible to do that in photoshop. Make the file an RGB file, use the magic wand on the area to change. go to edit and use fill
background and then click on the color swatch for the desired color.
Outline color and fill is always black in TypeTool, but you can change handles to be colorful. It is in Preferences > Glyph window > Black/White nodes.
