I recall that he answered this question himself – I think it may have been in an interview on typeradio. But anyway, his answer was Plantin Schoolbook, which I think is the typeface Graphic Thought Facilty used for the identity of his show at the Design Museum. I can't remember if he gave more reasons than that fairly arbitrary justification.

I think a good designer is not only one typefaces. And Peter Saville is a very good designer.
