Alexander Isley: Designing for Designers

Designing something that will be seen by all of one's peers: Dream job,
right? A chance to show off! Time to cut loose creatively! Time to show 'em all!

Join Alexander Isley, designer of this year's TDC annual, to hear him talk
about how he tries to avoid the temptations that befall designers (including
himself, he admits) when doing work for design-oriented clients. Alex will show
examples from his firm's award-winning work for the AIGA, Cooper-Hewitt Museum,
and the TDC, among others. He'll talk about his love of type, why he feels he
could never be a great type designer, and how sometimes the best way to show
off to one's peers is to take a step back and let their work be the star of
the show. And just for fun, he'll also show some examples of work he thinks is
really terrible. (Some if it his own.)
