Helveeta T-Shirt {Commercial Announcement}
Due to popular demand the Helveeta shirt is now in production! Co-designed with Brian Jaramillo, this garment speaks for itself - mostly because nobody else will speak for it.

The price for a shirt is 24 Swiss Francs. For reasons of convenience you may assume this converts to exactly US$20 irrespective of currency market activity. Shipping (for one shirt) within the incontinental US is US$5. For reasons of international relations shipping to Switzerland is currently not available. If you'd like a shirt please email me with your payment preference, size (of shirt), and ground address: hpapazian_at_gmail_dot_com
Important Note: the current order is for 25 shirts, 8 of which are already spoken for. Whatever doesn't sell by Friday will be offered for sale to the ravenous crowds at the LA screening of the Helvetica movie. If you decide to wait for a second batch of shirts, you are likely to be waiting for godot.

How large is it on a chest? Can you show an approximation?
24.Apr.2007 6.43pm
As per Brian's expert determination it's 9 inches wide.
I did a mock-up and it looks just right.

it seems like a Packers cheesehead would go well with this shirt. :D
25.Apr.2007 5.41am
OK Hrant, sign me up for one extra-large. It is even cheesy enough for me :-)

I wonder what it might look like with "Schrift" in place of Kraft in the top logo?

My other choices for that box were:
DAFT
CRAFT?
KRAPT
RALPH

Depends on the chest. :)
26.Apr.2007 12.45pm
Well, not really. :^) I mean they are only burning one set of screens to print.

HRMPH
26.Apr.2007 6.30pm
'HRMPH' is in the spirit of the shirt. It's the noise of frustration. Sort of like 'bah humbug' but more monosylabic. It used to be used in comics. I think I first saw it in 'Peanuts'. Related would be MRRPH. Which is the same thing but with less vehemence and perhaps more disapointment. Sense?
Actually those letters look kinda good together with the M in the center anchoring it. Maybe I should start a fashion label for the frustrated and appaled.
26.Apr.2007 6.46pm
Maybe but I think it's too far removed from KRAFT.
Cheers, Si

I also liked it because it related to the sentiment of the shirt. And because HRANT & HRUMPH both have HR. Anyway it won't make it onto the shirt so no worries.

And to think Brian didn't let me know about this.

Fabulous! I'm getting one. This is sure to become a Typophile classic. Thanks Hrant!

Made my order!

Got mine today. Laffs aplenty around the office (and a few double-takes). Thanks Hrant, I'll wear this to the SF premiere of the Helvetica movie, even though cheeze yellow isn't my color.

Poor Gary is gonna think some gang is stalking him around the world...
And remember, when you're taking a photo of somebody
wearing that shirt, the line is: "Say Helveeta!" :-)

Has the SF premiere date been announced? (I assume SF is San Francisco.) I keep looking on the helveticafilm.com site but I haven't seen a date yet. If you wear your shirt I'll wear mine.... :-)

That's where I got my info. I hope it's correct! June 13. And yes of course I'll be seen in an unflattering yellow tee-shirt. See you there, Stuart! I'm practicing my cheesy, insincere smile. If you are somehow detained, the movie will also be shown at TypeCon in Seattle August 1.

So the number of shirts left can be counted on the fingers of one of Mickey's hands. I'm waiting for a check in the mail for one, will be donating one to the Typecon auction, so that leaves 2. And I've decided not to print any more. It was good while it lasted, but now let's wrap this up and fade into type history together...

I'm leaving for a while, but will check back in a couple hours.

Oh! I had missed that. I guess I had assumed that new screenings would be added only at the end. Great! I'll make sure to be there.
And yes... I've received the shirt (thanks Hrant!) and the cheese yellow color is quite unflattering. But I suppose I must wear it anyway. Ah, the price to be paid to be part of typophile history.... :-)

For the record, Large is the biggest size left.
(Which doesn't come close for me, so they are still there)

Clearly you haven't watched Nacho Libre.

It never occurred to me to let Mexican wrestling influence my fashion style, and after considering it with as open a mind as I can muster, the courage is still lacking.

Just got mine in today. The guys at work love it. Now I need a good Powerless Point one (long story) and we'll be set there.

I got mine! Now I've just got to work up the courage to wear it to the local bars and endure painful ridicule!

Update: I have one Large and one Medium left.
