IEU CD204-ARCH202 project gallery

The Language of the Text
12.02.2007 – 19.02.2007

My gratitude goes to my associates Gül Kaçmaz Erk & Selma Göker for having made this project feasible, and to all the 2nd year students involved, for having undertaken the task in one week only, and with admirable results. Last but not least I'd like to thank Dr. Hakan Ertep & Dr. Tevfik Balcioglu for their understanding.

The letters of the alphabet, the characters of a typeface are building blocks ; as well as I believe that writing is architecture, may graphic design & typography not be banned.

Interesting preponderance of D’s there, presumably the absence of lowercase was a part of the brief.

Yes, it was.
The 'D' for those groups was the choice of the circle-based letterform (besides triangle & square).
In the gallery the images of the architectures are just reported as text references.

I see, I think, picking three letterforms based (loosely) on triangle, square and circle.
Fun project.

Yes, one thing I used to like about Lawrence Parker's (KRS-One) was his concept of "edutainment," and that was the first time I heard that word.

Awesome -- I've passed the link on to some of my architect "friends".... (yes, even after dissing them as a profession, I still get along with a few!)
