Can anyone tell me how to make a right double appostrophe in abobe illustrator? whats the short cut?? Is there any website I can visit for a similar info? please let me know..
cmd+alt+[ for ”
alt+[ for “
thank u! but is that for mac? is there any website for this kind of information? thank u!!
No problem. They are called quotation marks, inverted commas or speech marks.
Yep, that’s for a Mac.
In Mac it's Option plus the brackets.
No wait, it's Option + [ for open quotes
Shift+Option + ] for close quotes.
Doh! Wrote cmd instead of shift! Couldn’t edit my comment for some reason. Is that your doing Patty?
Oh yes, all a big plot to make me seem smarter.
thanks 2 Conor and pattyfab;)for further info!
Nah! I did nothing but confuse you and myself.
BUT... how do you get the 'dumb' quotes back, if you want to indicate inches or feet? Is the only way to do this to turn off smart quotes?
OR, is there a secret keyboard shortcut?
The best thing is to go to the Symbol font, and get the properly angled glyphs.
Or an OT font with the correct characters.
Either way, probaby use the Glyph palette
Control+Shift+' gives you dumb quotes. Control+' gives you a prime mark. These are useful for sure when you need feet and inches.
