Extracurricular highlight so far: Discovering Vietnamese/French sandwiches in the Vietnamese corner of Chinatown. Thanks James for the jaunt, it was well worth it.
I brought Chris Lozos and William Berkson over to Jacob Wirth for their classic German Mixed Grill -- Grilled Smoked Bratwurst and Weisswurst, served with Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage and German Potato Salad :-)
The first time I visited Boston (about 10 years ago for MacWorld), I had the chowdah at Jacob Wirth. Fantastic at the time, I hope it's still as good, because I would recommend it from memory.

Joshua: "He lives in a city that offers more Vietnamese sandwich places than any city in the world, outside Saigon, and he's discovering them here!?"

'cause it took me 5 minutes to ID the face instead of just eating my soup! ;-)
