Karim Rashid. You've probably seen his book at Borders, next to the IDEO book, the type books, and the Very Best of the Best Business Card Design Annual Awards Vol. 42, in the Design section.

"Industrial Design's reigning It man."

here's an LA times story for anyone interested

I don't know how to make a link without pasting the entire url. sorry. duh.

I have a few friends of friends (those underdog ID peeps) who have worked for him.

he may be a great ID man but supposedly a horrible person. He dosen't pay any of his interns...and he takes in alot of them to do his work for him, who then are discredited.

your url needed a password.

Graham - I love IDEO. !! The only sarcasm was directed at the proliferation of Business Card Design Books. :)

I am beginning to wonder, after reading all the typographi.ca stuff, whether anybody has seen Frederic Nader, Luc Devroye, and Joe Clark together at the same time?

Ah, ok then.

Yeah, I guess it is normally stuck in there right around "Hot Type, Cool Designers", "Cool Type, Hot Designers" and "The Best of Wine Bottle Labels, 1989."
