How do I get a multiplication sign in Mac Quark 6.5?

I can tell the font has that glyph, but I have no idea how to use it.

There's no keyboard shortcut, and copying and pasting either from the character map in FontExplorer or the web just results in a ?. I've tried PopCharX, but it doesn't even show up in the character map there.

Quark Xpress 7 is supposed to have a glyphs palette (like Indesign has had for years now), but until then how do I get to this character?

Wouldn't you just use an "x" or "X"?

Ouch; I hope you wouldn't.

[edit: deleted dumb suggestion after reading the original post a bit better...]

May be a bit heretical to suggest this: but unless the font is something particularly unusual, are you able to insert a multiplication sign out of another - more standard - font? (after all, it's not the most, er, characterful of characters)

Ever since I chose to block pop-ups, my toaster's stopped working.

I generally use option(alt)+y in Symbol.
