wah's picture

i've just downloaded 4 free fonts from www.macrhino.com and i converted form mac format first to "opentype" and then to "truetype" because as opentype they didn't work in illustrator
can someone explain me the differende between these two kinds of fonts and why didn't illustrator recognize the first group?
thanks a lot and excuse me for the stupid question!

OpenType is basically the latest and greatest font format.

TrueType was touted as such before OpenType, and fonts in TTF format are still well-suited for the vast majority of (American) users.

I imagine the program making the conversions just created a bad OTF...

I have the same 4 fonts, and they work fine 'as is' in Illustrator here.

Hi all!

I’ve had problems when this is done, when you print directly from the application. However, when you stuff everything into a PDF file the printing looks fine...

By the way, would someone benevolent be willing to send those fonts to me? I have no way to convert to Win.
