New to Typophile? Accounts are free, and easy to set up.
As i plan to put my type designs online, i would like to have them in some sort of typetester (changing sizes, weights etc). Does anybody know about a free-code flash viewer, template or alike. Commercial templates are also welcome.

Thanks Andreas.
Benjamin, if it seems like something you could use, get in touch. It's not really a true flash solution, but it does use flash to display the type. It is very easy and flexible to set up though.

Ed, have you got kerning working yet?

No. I don't think flash supports any kerning in dynamic text does it?

Well, that's a most complex question. Flash 8 does, with FlashType (based on the MERL Saffron rendering engine). Flash 7 does not with their built-in dynamic text object, but a sufficiently enterprising programmer could probably hack up their own which draws the glyphs individually.

Hi Ed
I've already send you an e-mail. It could be great to try.out your script. I does not have to be a full-flash solution, i just thougt it was the only way to get around the problem :)

I hope you will find it useful.

Have done some time ago this:
http://web.bootchec.com/fontviewer/
You can get source for it, but flash has problems with displaying all fonts properly.

Thanks bootchec. Is it a general problem that Flash don't use kerning?

It is not about kerning. Flash 8 has lots of great possibilities in terms of playing with fonts (letter spacing, kerning, and character positioning etc). But as you download my exe file from link above you might notice that some your fonts are not displayed properly in this application. It happens because flash does not display some PS fonts as well as others. Do not remember what is the problem (it was quite long time ageo though) anyway it looks like problem that cannot be solved so I left it.
Anyway flash crashes if you are using ps fonts and do not have ps display drivers installed(come with ATM)
Some info :)
