I’m creating some period artwork and I want to make sure my type is period accurate. Does anyone have a good resource for determining what year certain fonts were created?

I’ve been wanting such a database for a while. Unfortunately, I’ve had to resort to researching the individual faces, which can be tedious, however useful and enriching.
