The logo was designed by Cornell Windlin of Lineto. The face used in the logo does look very Brody-like, but I can't pin its provenance. Yves must be right, though, I've never seen him be wrong!
When I spent my month at MetaDesign Berlin they were doing the communication for Haus, and I heard somebody say the logo was done by Neville. I don't think any court of law would uphold this as hard evidence though...
yes i designed both typeface and logo when working at neville brody studio some time in the late 80s.
the typeface was designed starting from scratch, without looking at any particular existing typeface for reference.
neville brody was working on it too, for a bit.
the letters were hand-drawn and we then rephotographed and cut and pasted them for use.
there is a very basic digital version which was done a couple of years later, buried deep on some syquest cartridge.
it was never developed into a full font, and there is no lower case for it.
i haven't looked at this font for years.
Oh, there is no need to put in such terms! Brody was involved, and the work was done at his studio, so one could easily (mis)acredit the design to him.
Thanks for going to such levels to get the clear story out. This logo story needs to go in the wiki…

That "K" is very peculiar, so I would say customized Engravers' Gothic with a stroke added, or something like it.

Kustom designed by Neville Brody. :-)

The logo was done by Windlin, both my girlfriend and I each won free tickets to TYPO Berlin because we knew that.*
Now, who exactly made the type, I do not know.
*The German magazine form had a ticket giveaway in February/March. This was the question/answer.

Windlin needs to add this to the Lineto library. Now.

But wait - did widlin maybe work for Brody? Because the logo is in Brody's 2nd book about his design career along with all the stuff for PARCO.

If you come to Typecon this summer you'll notice I always go to great lengths to get to the bottom of a story. CSI : Typophile anyone? ;-)
