Yves, I think I should get partial credit for picking Donaldson's "Humana Serif". I recognized his lettering, just missed the actual font. (Figured this was worth a try ;-))

Maybe ;-). But that's not the case here. Typefaces identified after 48h weren't included in the ID average time calculus, just to reduce the distortions in the results...
I would like to suggest that this scoring system overlooks the difficulty factor. I think the points should be based only on the number of guesses made, not on the time it takes. That factor is already considered when you award points to the first one who names the font correctly, but if three or four tries are needed then it seems more points should be awarded, because of the difficulty in making the correct identification. Otherwise you are favoring the person with the fastest server, or the most time to just sit and wait for new posts. By the time I see the first e-mail that there is a new font posted for ID, there are already three posts with it to ID the thing, so of course I would like a system that puts a bit less emphasis on speed. Just my two cents. :-)

I actually stumbled onto it during my run through the FontBook looking for the Diet Cherry Coke ID. Though I usually am on the look-out for several different IDs when I do one.
You won't be able to find a watertight system. This whole competition business with the Leader Board started out as just a big amount of silliness that's getting a little bit out of hand. The main purpose of the Leader Boards is to see how efficient we are, and the averages and attribution of IDs to persons is just raw material that's not really meant to be taken very seriously, believe me.

My 1st thoughts were Legende and Codex.
I went through my Calligraphics, Old Styles
and even Formal Scripts, but no luck.
Something from Scriptorium maybe? Dunno.

Here's a thought. It looks a lot like ITC Humana Serif that's been blurred down and edited slightly (like the '2'). Here's a look at these numbers in the Medium weight: http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/linotype/itc-humana-serif/humana-serif-itc-medium/testdrive.html?s=261-7711&p=48

(spoken in a small voice) Oh... well.... never mind.

Dang. Thought it might be Delphin, but no.
Hey, Tiff, weren't you the number wizard recently on
the Type ID Pop Quiz? This should be up your sleeve.

See? I can even vote myself into 5-stardom.

BTW Thanks for the vote of confidence.

Got it: it's Letraset's Twang, a "dirty" script by

Timothy Donaldson.
See, that's why I have such a lousy average in the
Leader Boards: persistence. Sorry it took so long, Misa.

Grrreat, so that means I just have a lousy average,

period.
Bugger me senseless.
<sigh>

Or I'll have to wait at least 48 hours whenever it

takes too long (this is getting really complicated).

You are right though, and on several occasions I pointed
out the flaws in the system. But I guess it simply can't
be helped.
