Hand-lettered. Note differences in shape of repeated letters.

It certainly is hand-lettered, but it reminds me of Ad Lib by Freeman Craw. That’s probably as close as you will get with a digital font.

Here are some fonts that are free-form medium weight with sharp corners and generally vertical and horizontal strokes -- I have excluded the really bouncy and wonky designs: Ad Lib http://www.linotype.com/145223/adlibregular-font.html Galindo http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Galindo and http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/stiggy-sands/galindo-pro/ Chop Phooey http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/pink-broccoli/chop-phooey/ Filmotype Major http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/filmotype/major/

I'm with R. I think this looks like it used Ad Lib as its model, and since Ad Lib was designed in 1961, the timing seems right. "Beach Blanket Bingo" came out in 1965.

If you want a font with lots of variations on Ad Lib try NightClub BTN http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/btn/nightclub-btn/ Also Bear Club http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/pink-broccoli/bear-club/
