1950s Map Lettering

spaceagle's picture

I'm looking for font suggestions for the two handwritten 1950s style fonts in the headings of the attached map.
Any ideas? I've had a look on several of the font repositories but not found anything matching well - particularly the strongly angled serifs on the second heading.

Thin brushed angled serfis were popular in 1915 and I expect that some similar lettering has been digitized. A quick check turned up Clementhorpe http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/gatf/clementhorpe/ which has similar serif treatment but pointing backwards instead of forwards.

Similar treatment, but by no means an exact match...

Brushed spikey serifs but almost vertical, Charlemagne http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/adobe/charlemagne/
From a lettering book circa 1912
