Typeface for Yamanaka & Co.

christopherjhlee's picture

Hello.

I found this beautiful type used in an old ad for the Yamanaka & Company. I plan to revive this typeface digitally.

Before I do, could you guys help me identify this type or know any ones that are similar in style? I've done some research and no luck. I truly appreciate it, thanks!

Hand lettered -- note the variation in letters. Style is probably best captured by Arts and Crafts fonts.

Agree with Don of course. Hand-drawn. Reminds me of the spirit behind some 'architect' fonts. For this one, I like Savu, Dumb Thick and Estilo (though too formal to do the job) as alternative.
