Old Letterpress Sans

thinkingwithtype's picture

Hi All,

Any ideas on this old letterpress sample? I know has some pretty idiosyncratic features (esp. Q, 2 and ampersand) but any clues as to what it is — and especially suggestions for a good digital alternative — are much appreciated.

Thanks.

Seems to be a dry transfer sheet. Does it have the name of the vendor, e.g. Letraset, Filmotype, etc.?

I'm afraid not, Don. I don't even have the original printed specimen, just a digital scan I found on my work's server!

Hi James, no digital match that I can see. Some letterforms like S and the tail on Q have a passing resemblance to Concord and Accord from Soneri Type:
